We had the privilege to have Elder Johnson of the 1st Quorum of the 70 and our Area President come for a mission tour with his wonderful wife. The week was filled with meetings from the early mornings to the night. This is after the meeting with our zone leaders.
I just couldn't resist. I usually like to take pictures of Dad sleeping but the reflexion in the wood of the stand was a good second choice and besides he doesn't go to sleep on the stand. Maybe he was getting sleepy and needed to take off his shoes to keep himself awake.
After each of the meetings with each zone we met outside of the chapels to take zone pictures. I'm only including a few but these were cold days with a wind. I know. It's not snowing so what am I saying. But when it's humid it's cold in the wind when it's 45 or 50 degrees.
The Huasteca Zone.
A few that didn't get into the picture outside. The Johnson's are fun and wonderful people. We laughed until we had tears a couple of times on the longs drives in the car. We have some good inside jokes about sports and playing games and being a Christian that we'll never forget. There was a lot of teasing and Sister Johnson and I are in agreement that it's fun to play the game. Pres. Johnson and Dad are in the agreement that you play to win. We loved every minute with them. They were so complimentary and kind.
On Sunday, Dad asked Elder Johnson if he wouldn't mind spending the day going to our 2 Districts. They are a distance away but they have never had a general authority. We first met with the district in Panuco. They little building was bulging with people to see and hear him. The chapel only holds 90 people but there were about 280 from this little district that came that day. They were not only in the chapel but in classrooms throughout the little building. In the afternoon, we traveled on to Huejutla where the chapel is larger and holds 120 but crammed many more than that because, in all, there were almost 400 people that traveled to see President Johnson. What a wonderful day this was.
This picture is of the wonderful people of Tamazunchale. These children will be the recipients of a wonderful gift so lovingly made by our ward in Sandy. Dad has his hand on the shoulder of one man with his grandaughter standing in front of him. He's not from Tamazunale but when asked he said, "It's not important. I'm a member of the church." He was so proud to have his picture taken with the others.
