MICOS FALLS

We lucked out with a warm day and decided to go to Micos Falls.  We were there last March with Camille and Jared and their family but it was cold and the water was freezing.  It is a beautiful place.
Does this look like your idea of a retreat?  They have a 'campground' facility at Micos with about 4 huts that you can rent to stay in.
We decided we'd rather stay in campground #2 at Bridger Lake in our tent than sleep in this hut.
There is a lightbulb that hangs down in each hut and this is the wire that connects to the power.  It's just laid on a long pole between huts.
We took a little boat ride up near the falls and around the small lake.  I wish I could get ferns to grow this well in our house in Sandy.
We were the only people at the falls which made taking pictures a lot easier and no line for a boat ride.  We wondered if there is ever a line.  But the falls are beautiful and come out of the mountain so the water is very clear.
When we returned to Valles we tried a new restaurant that seemed pretty fun.  It definitely was decorated to attract us gringos.  But as you can see the food was pretty greasy.  Still, it was pretty good.
Anyone for a hotdog or a taco?  I think there were hot coals inside this cooker.  Paula said that after eating the tortill chips we didn't need chapstick for our lips.  They were greasy enough.

Those "luxurious accomodations" remind me of a place we visited together in Mexico once...Machos. Isn't that what that "resort" was called? Oh those huts would fit right in! It seems like they try so hard but get it oh so wrong :)
