They tried to charge us to sit under the shade of the cabana. We were the only people sitting at the beach. They must have needed the money because this time of year there aren't many there. And Carolyn and I didn't even use their shade. What's up with that. When we left the beach we stopped at a restaurant for a bathroom and were surprised to find 2 of our missionaries walking back from the pier. The beach area is off-limits to the missionaries. They were as surprised to see us as we were to see them. They are good young men so Dad had a "little talk" with them for a few minutes and then we gave them a ride to their comida appointment. I bet they won't do that again. Maybe they just needed a little CLARIFICATION and the hug that followed.
During the week we also went to the Centro for a look at the big Catholic church and, of course, some churros. We sat on the bench for a rest and watched the pigeons. Dad is really happy eating his churros. Just caught him "looking" angry.
We were in the process of having zone classes with all the missionaries when they arrived so the day we went out to Valles they came to the meeting with us. I just had to have a picture of them at the back of the room reading and crocheting because they couldn't understand anything that was said. Sorry that it was a little boring but afterward we drove up to.......

Micos Falls. We had a nice time in the sunshine. We took the ride in the little boat which was a little disconcerting because the water level on the boat was right near the top. We must have eaten too many peanut M&M's that day. If Carolyn can send me the picture of our boat ride I'll put it on the blog. We don't seem to have one.
Carolyn decided that she needed to think a little longer before she stayed the night in the mud huts on the other side of the river. She thought the bed looked O.K.???????????
We just had to take a picture of the temperature gauge in the car. The tempurature had actually gone down at this point and had been at 95 degrees.
On Sunday we visited the Mata Redonda ward. Mom had played the piano at the Valles zone meeting and now at the Sacrament meeting she played again. It is a great piano with no one to play it. She even played for the R.S. choir. While she was sitting at the piano this cute little girl came up and gave her a hug and just sort of stayed there by her. Afterward we took a picture of the two of them.

Sadly, they had to go home the next morning but we did squeeze one more baptismal service Sunday night. Everyone loved having them there and greeted them with the same love we receive. Thank you so much for your time you spent with us. We know it is a huge expense. We loved being able to share this week with you and hope we didn't put you over the edge. We love you.
Mom sat down to play the piano several times while they were there and we just wanted to have some video of her playing. I'm still trying to download it but it's having a problem. We hope she doesn't mind that we took it and that we can hopefully share it. It was a special part of the visit for us.

Your posts make me so happy! I find myself laughing out loud too. I bet those Elders will be telling that story one day and just dying that they got caught breaking the rules, by the Mission President. That is a crack up. Obviously they needed a little reminder from the Lord that they are loved.
