Goodbyes

This morning we went to the airport to see a young woman off to the MTC in Mexico City.  She is a convert from just before we arrived in Mexico and has wanted to serve a mission ever since them.  She will be serving in the Mexico Southeast mission.  We will be gone when she gets home but she will be a great missionary.  We are so happy for her.  She is the only member in her family and has been raised by her aunt (here in the picture). Her mother also lives with them but is not like a mother.  She has not had support in any of these things but we have seen some love from her aunt as she went to the temple and also has left on her mission.

Then we came back to the house to start preparing the food for the day and also for Dad to finish the interviews at the office for the missionaries that well return to their home tomorrow. We always have them begin arrive at about 1:00 in the afternoon  so they can weigh their bags and have time to shift things, if needed.  Then we have a large comida, a testimony meeting, and leave for the temple together.  We love this part of the day and are very grateful to have a temple in our mission.

Elder Young asked for picture in front of the temple.  He is one of, and there are many others in this generation, the missionaries that has worked hard to make a difference in his time here.  He is more than who he was when he arrived and he was wonderful when he arrived.  The same could be said of the majority of the others.

They are all more than who they were when they arrived but some have had their heart in the work more than others.  They are the ones that gain the most.
The next morning at the airport it is always difficult for us to say goodbye.  Some we will never see again.
