It's Easter Sunday and we are here in Tempoal to bless a baby of a young couple. The father is unable to perform this blessing right now because of some action against him in the church but there is a strong relationship and love between this family and us, especially Dad and so they asked Dad to bless their little boy.
These two elders have been serving as the priesthood leadership in Tempoal for several months and have helped the struggling branch continue moving forward. Elder Franklin and Elder Castillo. Elder Castillo is being transferred to another branch in the district just about 45 minutes away to become the Branch President in that branch. The current branch president is moving his family to Mexico and there are none others qualified to be called. Imagine, a branch of about 100 in attendance each Sunday and none others that can serve. There are difficult problems in Tantoyuca and we know Elder Castillo can unite them just as he has done in Tempoal. Elder Franklin will become the branch president in Tempoal and train another companion to take over. Elder Franklin goes home in May.
We may never see Tempoal again so one last scan of the outside including the rooster and other animal sounds and the vendor in the street beeping his bell. He could be selling tortillas, fruit drinks, bread, brooms and mops, or any number of other things.
