These are bananas from our own banana tree. It's all there is but we'll never have this in the back yard in Sandy, Utah. These little bananas are sweeter and have a different texture than the larger ones.
Today we are having a special comida because one of our office elders are going back out into the field. The fresh stuff just looked so good. Elder Larsen had decided we would be having a 'surf and turf' experience.
So we bought the food and they prepared almost all of it. They put thin slices of beef on skewers that had been marinated for several hours. Some elder cleaned shrimp. What a stinky joy.
Elder Franklin cooked the bacon for a special salad and....
Elder Cruz went outside to check on Dad's progress with the meat.
It was a delicious meal and we enjoyed the time together. I loved that they prepared almost all of it. I made a dessert from the ingredients that Lisa Freebairn had sent the week before. It was a pumpkin trifle and is a recipe for 15-20 people. It was all gone when they left. And some of them also had a root beer float. Where do they put it all??????

We have more Americans than Mexicans right now in the office because part way through the change 2 elders had to come into the office to work for medical reasons. A mission is all about change........constant change.
