On the Road to Finish Interviews

Only two more days of interviews with missionaries and that will be the last of these.  Yes, there are always special interviews, here and there, but the regularly scheduled interviews will be finished.  We love this personal time with each missionary.  While one companion is with Dad I am talking with the other about their English, their Spanish, their investigators, their health, and what they need.  Dad loves the time he has to speak confidentially with each one.  We always take materials and supplies out to the missionaries and today we are trying to finish up getting these new little tables out that they will use for studying.  They can put them side by side and sit across from their companion to have their companionship study time.  We felt this was something we could do to make their experience in their studies more like "Preach My Gospel" DVD's.  No, the houses they live in aren't the same as the American's houses but they can have a good mattress to sleep on and a good table to study on.
And they get their things home any way they can.  The taxi drivers and the buses love us, I'm sure.  The missionaries look pretty funny, at times, with their ironing board sticking out the window of a taxi.
On the road you see many trucks filled with people who are working in the fields.  These are sugar cane harvesters.  They come back black from cutting the black, burned stalks in the fields with their machetes.
This is a common way  to get around especially in the district of the mission.  The cities have pickup trucks with a little top on it and benches along the sides.  It's less expensive than a taxi.
And then there is the pineapple delivery guys.  You are looking at almost 200 pineapples.  That's only what you see. And they're stacked perfectly and neatly to the top.  It is the size of a semi trailer.  So imagine how many pineapples are in a full truck.  They sometimes just pull off the side of the road to supply a little vendor.  We decided to try a few.
We bought 4 for the consilio that we'll have this Friday.  I wish we could buy pineapples like this at home for so little money.
