Nancy, David and Aldo

This is the family that we introduced you to a couple of weeks ago in the post "Sunday in Panuco".  Today they were baptized.  The Atonement is truly a miracle and a power we cannot fully comprehend.

Nancy's face reflects what she feels as she steps out of the font and....
into the embrace of her husband.  They have been through so much pain and suffering over the last 3 weeks.  It is almost unbelievable to see them here like this and yet their gratitude is beyond words.  They are so happy.
David and Aldo are brothers.  Aldo, on the right, is only 18 years and lives with David and Nancy in their tiny little house.  In one lesson we attended in their home I didn't know that Aldo was a brother and thought he was a member invited into the lesson by the missionaries.  He was answering all the questions from the elders.  But he hadn't really had any lessons.  He had studied the pamphlet given him and was anxious to answer.

We gave the three of them a triple combination because they are so excited about the scriptures.  We honestly believe they will be in the temple in one year.  The problem will be that we will probably have left a few days before and once the new president arrives in the mission you have to leave.

Aldo insisted on a picture outside the chapel in Panuco.  He says he is going on a mission in a year.  We're sure he will.  We only wish all of you could be here to experience this with us.  We need to work harder to have these experiences at home.  They are priceless and will forever affect our testimonies and the love and gratitude we feel for the Savior.

I love the picture as she's coming out of the font. Way to catch the moment!
