A Visit to the San Felipe Primary

This is the small meeting house in San Felipe.  We arrived this morning to speak and take part in their meetings and also brought the gifts to the Primary from our ward at home.  They don't know anything about us bringing gifts.

The children of Mexico are so adorable.   They enjoyed coloring their self-portraits.

And also posing when I came around with the camera.

All of the children in this Primary are 5 and older but except for two of them are all different ages.  They hold 2 different classes to teach them all.  That is better than what is done in some of the smaller branches.

Dad, Grandpa Call, loves talking to them about the questions on the sheet while they are coloring their pictures.

In case you don't recognize the Primary song it is "I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ" without using the CD player.  'A Capella' can be a very scary thing here but is always done with gusto.

And they were so excited to be handed something brand new and full of special things.

Afterwards, the branch president, President Perez invited us to their home for dinner.  They have a very simple home and they treated us so kindly.  The soup/pasta/bean/squash/meat dish was actually really good.

They have these two adorable daughters.  Pres. Perez is 33 years old and teaches cooking in another city during some of the week and then teaches weight lifting on Saturday nights.  They own a little restaurant that is connected to their home in front.

The name of the restaurant is "La Diferencia".

The reason it is called "La Diferencia" is that they are not open on Sundays like everyone else.  They get questioned about why they are not open for business and they are able to share something about the gospel with them.  These are wonderful people.  He is young and didn't serve a mission.  He says he was rebellious in his early years.  He is doing a great job but he now realized how much a mission would have helped him.
