Just a Week in the Life......

We have a pretty new elder in the mission who developed a cyst and had to have it removed.  So he and his companion spent the day in the Mexican hospital.  I spent the day with them and saw a few different things they do.  Rather thanthe white stockings that they might put on a patience for circulation, they wrapped both his legs in wide gauze.  He was such a good sport and we had a few things to laugh about in the process.  At the end of the day they both came to spend a few days of recovery at our home.  They are two phenomenol elders.
One of the days while they were with us we took a ride to the podiatrist office.  Would you want to go there?  But the Dr. is a member of the church and is wonderful about caring the feet problems of the missionaries.  It's pretty rustic but she does a good job and doesn't always charge us for her service.  Best of all we trust her care.  Two years ago would we ever have thought to step into an office like this and entrust these good young men and women to this care?  I think not.
This is another random scene that is so common here.  They sell everything in the streets and set up shop right in the center portion of the road.  Who knows what they breath every day with all the traffic rushing by kicking up the major dirt in the streets but it is their life.
Yesterday we were in a couple of cities for meetings but the last one had this adorable little boy with a T-shirt that was like a missionary.  Tie and badge and it was even tucked in.  And yes, those are little Angel Moronis on the painted on tie.  Does it get better than that.  There are probably a few missionaries that wish they could swap their regular white shirts for one like this.
