And then in the evening we received 1 American. This was a strange transfer day. We have a few from other countries that are waiting for their visas. Elder Horton is a young man who has been a member for 1 1/2 years. He is only here because he wants to be and has great desires to do his best.
Sister Lazo is from Bolivia and is Sister Farfan's trainer. When we took them to their house later in the day, Sister Lazo had decorated their room to make her feel welcomed and loved. R.S. is alive a well in the sisterhood of our sister missionaries.
Before taking Elder Horton and his companion, Elder Garcia (second from left), we took one picture with the Assistants, Elder Swensen and Elder Cruz. The church is starting a new training program for all new missionaries and their trainers starting today. They spend more time studying together and have a predesigned study program. The church feels that at the end of the 12 weeks training time the new missionary could very well be used as a trainer. They do everything else just as all the other missinaries but focus on this curriculum for their studying time. We believe that we will be putting all of the missionaries on the same type of program. It includes 8 lessons that the church has given to help them become better teachers.
