Just so you know, the sisters in Poza Rica will be having a get together for the General R.S. broadcast at the same you will be seeing it. There is a real sisterhood here. They love to be together. I saw this sign inside the door of the Poza Rica chapel

We don't take pictures every time we do interviews but these are 10 of the Elders serving in Poza Rica right now. The reason we took the picture was to be able to share something about one of the Mexican elders. He is Elder Velazquez. He is far right on the back row. When he came out of his interview he pulled me aside and said, "Hermana Call, I haven't always been the best missionary but I am really trying hard. I don't know even the name of my father but last Saturday my mother was baptized. I know it is a blessing of the mission. I'm really going to give my heart to God to tell him thank you". Well, I had a few tears when he finished and I thanked him for sharing. He has only been a member for about 5 years and joined the church because of a friend. He has a difficult companion but is willing and trying hard. Only the 2 of them serve in the city of Cazones. They have pure water to drink because they buy it but the water that comes out of their taps to shower and wash their clothes in is muddy from the river. The whole city of Cazones is that way. What a sacrifice they offer. We love them all.
By the way, the elder standing next to him is the only member in his family. He joined the church when he was 18 and decided to serve a mission. He is a great missionary.
One of the things I have loved about Dad running marathons is to sometimes find out the reasons people have for running them. The person or the cause. Now I'm doing that in the mission. It has been a very special experience.

Thank you for sharing this story. Missionaries just tug at my heart. I'm so happy his mom is baptized!
