"Down By The Riverside"

We were invited to the baptism of Sister Galdina Cervantes Roque and cute Juana Mendez Guajardo in Gonzales. We had met Sister Cervantes a few weeks ago when we went to Gonzales to clean up the church building in that city. She had prepared the food for the district when we finished. Her baptism could have taken place in the little font under the trap door behind the podium of their tiny chapel but she chose the river.
It had been raining off and on for several days and we had seen the muddy rivers. We wondered how this baptism would work but they drove to a secluded spot, the rain stopped, the water was the clearest water we have seen in Mexico, and they were baptized.
Dad and I spoke on Baptism and the Holy Ghost right there on the shore and then Elder Rodriguez and Elder Moreno performed the baptisms.
Afterward, there was somewhat of a celebration tailgate picnic. Sister Cervantes had prepared delicious Taquitas. These are some of the ward member who attended. It was a great day.

This baptism gave me a few tears of joy. What a beautiful place. It looks so peaceful. I wish I could have heard your talk in Spanish - you're the sweetest!
