Time for Consilio and some new socks

It's once again time for the zone leader council. Normally the zone leaders that live outside of Tampico come in the night before and sleep at the house of the office elders. But right now the area where these missionaries would sleep is filled with mattresses and little refrigerators and other supplies to open new houses in new areas. So 8 zone leaders slept at our house. When missionaries come in our house it is tradition that they take off their shoes. These socks belong to Elder Heppler. If we didn't have the 'take off your shoes' tradition, we would never have seen his socks. He goes home in March and his socks look like they need some help. He said that some of his other ones are worse. If it possible? Dad went to his drawer and pulled out a new pair and handed them to him.
We were very busy with some things that night so Dad told the 8 missionaries to help themselves to whatever they could find to eat for a little snack before they went to bed. A mistake. But they were all so happy and at least we trust these missionaries. They just could not get over all the food that is in the pantry. Things like peanut butter, boxes and boxes of brownie mix and cans of pumpkin. Dad had to make another run to the store for more milk for the morning waffles.
At 8:00 the next morning the other zone leaders joined us for waffles and then after the training we had lunch. How they love to eat.
They all look so distinguished. We love it when they wear their suits. And then they wanted a crazy picture. So we obliged them.
This is seriously the very best group of zone leaders. In the beginning days of the mission there was not the confidence that we feel in these young men. Everyone one of them is capable and excited about the work here. It makes such a huge difference.
