"Pathway to Perfection"

Today we drove out to Panuco for a baptism and hurried back to Tampico for a special Tampico ward activity that years ago in the Crescent 7th ward was called "Pathway to Perfection".  We remember Bishop Burnett pretending to fly a plane that eventually crashed and we found ourselves dead and learning about the degrees of glory.  This little ward somehow heard about this kind of activity and decided to do it.
This table was set up near the door by the missionaries for anyone to pick up information about the church.

Here is Elder Lindao from Ecuador trying to make this room look Celestial.  It was supposed to start at 6:00 but finally at about 7:00 the majority of the people and the ward mission leader, the one in charge for the night, was there.  By then it was dark outside and the Telestial room looked more authentic with little light.
We were told from the pulpit that we were going on a trip to Hawaii but that we crashed and we were dead.  A little blunt but we got the picture.  As we entered each room depicting the different glories we saw those behind crepe paper jail bars with dimmed lights, another room with a little more light and then this little family dressed in white singing together that depicted the Celestial Kingdom where families can be together forever.

After the activity they had entertainment.  These members from the ward dressed up and danced for us.  It was very light-hearted and fun.

We thought you'd enjoy a little taste of Hawaii coming from Mexico.  A little different flavor but fun, none the less.
Refreshments for the night were croissant sandwiches with some ham and a side dish of pasta.  They had also made leis for every person there.  A lot of work.  It was a missionary activity and 7 investigators attended.  We hope they enjoyed the evenings.  We enjoyed meeting them and welcoming them.
