We are so excited to attend this baptism today. It has been 9 years in coming. I just had to have a picture of the water in the font. I know it doesn't look like this in Sandy. That's how it comes out of the tap at this stake center.
This young woman is 25 today. Her name is Marcela and has been taught for 9 years by many sets of missionaries. She graduated from seminary but never has been baptized. These missionaries which happen to be our assistants spent a lot of time planning to figure out how the spirit would like them to approach her teaching. It has been an amazing process. We attended a lesson with the elders in the home of her sister who is a member and brother-in-law who is the bishop. She lives with them here in Tampico while she attends the university. There is an earlier blog entry about her and the party that took place after the lesson with the guitar-playing, singing neighbor.
Afterwards, we took a picture of the temple which is right next door. What a beautiful place in the middle of all the chaos of this country.
